Hello! I’ve been reading Robin’s posts for several months now. A woman I know named Taylor (not this Taylor) referred me to Robin. That’s how I found this site.
Why am I here? I think there is VERY strong chance that I have Asberger’s syndrome. I have not done much research as of yet, and do not know how to get officially diagnosed, or who to go to.
The symptoms I relate to.. in random order.. sensory overload, difficulty with making friends, often preferring to spend time alone, feeling like I am a foreigner in my own home town and everywhere I go, getting fixated on things – do OCD and Asberger’s go together?
Hmm.. I don’t always have a problem with making eye contact, but usually do. Can function socially at times, but have to work on it.
Let’s see.. have very unusual mind, higher than average IQ, pretty good at art and languages. But.. NOT good at math and never was much interested in science. I guess in that I am atypical.
Anyway, I’ll continue watching videos and reading posts on this site. Thanks very much for your endeavors, and thanks to Robin for posting the video that lead me here.
I have a blog, but not sure if you want to read it, a few of the posts are intense.. but you might find it interesting. Let me know in an email, and I’ll tell you how to get to it. I mention the blog because I received a comment awhile back on one my posts on mental health – a guy wrote me saying I had Asberger’s symptoms and that I should look into it. Maybe you could help me figure this out sometime.
Thanks again for this site. It is getting close to 3 AM now (are many Asberger’s syndrome folks night owls?) .. so I shall say goodnight to you.
Sorry – misspelled brilliant! That’s what I meant…
love this movie – love to hear what you’re thinking inside that brillian mind!
